Information Literacy Skills - a Portal for Teachers
This portal helps teachers to find information needed in developing information literacy skills:
- recognising the need for information
- constructing strategies for locating information
- locating and assessing information
- evaluating and extracting information
- organising and applying information
- evaluating the process and product
The portal has a selected collection to relevant links organised under following categories:
- useful portals and databases
- learning materials introducing information literacy skills
- resources to be used in comprehensive school, post-comprehensive general and vocational education and adult education
This portal has been funded by Uusimaa regional council. It has been developed in cooperation between the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen.
